Silt Fence

For the control of sediment around building and construction sites

Silt Fences are used around building and construction sites to control the movement of sediment, and work by filtering the water and trapping the sediment. The filtered water passes through the Silt Fences, leaving the sediment behind.

Silt Fences are generally constructed at the downstream boundary fence, immediately downstream of soil stockpiles and immediately upstream of grass buffer zones on contours for progressive filtering.

Silt Fences should be regularly inspected after storms, with excessive silt deposits removed.
